The 100 Club
Marketing & consent
Last updated: 23 October 2026
1. About this notice
This notice explains, in plain terms, how The 100 Club would like to keep in touch with you and how we use your personal information for marketing. It accompanies the consent tick boxes on our website, invitation and membership forms, so you know exactly what you are agreeing to before you choose.
The 100 Club is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 04550605, with its registered office and club premises at 1st Floor, 21–23 Wood Street, Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, FY8 1QR. We are the data controller for your information and are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under The 100 Club.
This notice should be read alongside our full Privacy Policy, which explains all the ways we use personal data and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations).
2. What we will send you and how
If you agree, we will send you a small number of carefully chosen messages about life at the club. We will never bombard you, and every message will be relevant to The 100 Club.
We may communicate with you by WhatsApp Business chat, text message, email, telephone and social media. We will only use each of these channels in the way UK data protection and electronic marketing law allows (UK GDPR and PECR): with your consent, or, where you are a member or have enquired about membership, to tell you about similar club events and services under the “soft opt-in”, always with a simple way to opt out. You decide which channels we use, and you can change your mind at any time.
What we send:
- invitations to private events, teaser evenings and our launch night;
- news about founding and full membership, including when places become available;
- our live music programme, from jazz and blues to soul and Rat Pack evenings;
- members’ events, special occasions and club news.
We will not send you offers from other companies, such as our event partners, without asking you separately first.
| Channel | How we use it | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Invitations, programme announcements and club news | Your consent | |
| WhatsApp Business chat | Invitations, upcoming event updates, countdown messages and personal replies from our official WhatsApp Business account, sent by private broadcast so no one sees other recipients | Your consent |
| Text message | Short reminders about events you are attending | Your consent |
| Post | Printed invitations and membership information | Legitimate interests (you can opt out at any time) |
| Telephone | Personal calls about membership or an event you have enquired about | Your consent, or legitimate interests where you have asked us to call. We never make marketing calls to numbers registered with the Telephone Preference Service unless you have told us you are happy to hear from us |
| Social media | Posts on our Facebook and Instagram pages, replies to messages you send us there, and club announcements shown to you as adverts | Your consent for adverts (see section 3); legitimate interests when replying to messages you send us |
3. The information we use
To send you marketing, we use your name, email address, mobile number and postal address, along with your contact preferences and the record of your consent.
Personalisation. To make our messages relevant, we may also use your music preferences, the events you have attended or been invited to, and whether you have enquired about membership. For example, if you came to our jazz evening, we may tell you first about our next jazz night. We do not use sensitive information, such as health details, for marketing.
Email engagement. Our emails may record whether they were opened and which links were clicked. We use this to improve what we send and to stop contacting people who are no longer interested.
Social media advertising. If you give us separate consent for this, we may share an encrypted (hashed) version of your email address or phone number with platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram) so that they can show you our announcements. The platform matches it to existing accounts and then deletes unmatched data. We will never do this without your consent.
Website cookies. Advertising and analytics cookies on our website are only set if you accept them in our cookie banner.
We never sell your personal data, never buy mailing lists, and never pass your details to other organisations for their own marketing.
4. Your consent: the choices we ask for
We ask for your consent with a single, clear tick box when you register your interest in membership. The box is never ticked in advance, and you do not have to tick it to request an invitation, attend an event or apply for membership. Ticking it allows us to contact you by email, text message, WhatsApp Business chat and telephone until you tell us otherwise.
The wording on our forms reads:
Keeping in touch with The 100 Club
☐ I would like to hear from The 100 Club about membership, invitations, events and its live music programme by email, text message, WhatsApp and telephone.
You can change your mind at any time by clicking “unsubscribe”, replying STOP or emailing privacy@the100clubstannes.co.uk. Read our Marketing & Consent Notice and Privacy Policy.
When you tick the box, we record that you agreed, when, and where (for example, our website or an event sign-up card), so we can always show that we have your permission.
5. Changing your mind
You can withdraw your consent or change your preferences at any time, free of charge, by clicking “unsubscribe” in any email, replying STOP to any WhatsApp or text message, asking any member of our team, or emailing privacy@the100clubstannes.co.uk. We will act on your request promptly, and within 28 days at most.
Withdrawing consent does not affect messages we need to send about your membership, bookings or account, and it does not affect anything we did with your consent before you withdrew it.
6. How long we keep marketing data
We keep your marketing preferences for as long as you are happy to hear from us. If you have not engaged with any of our messages or events for two years, we will ask whether you would still like to hear from us, and remove you if we do not hear back. If you opt out, we keep a minimal record of your details on a suppression list, solely to make sure we do not contact you again.
7. Our promises to you
- We will only contact you in the ways you have chosen.
- We will keep our messages relevant, discreet and infrequent.
- We will make it easy to opt out, every time.
- We will never sell your data or share it for other organisations’ marketing.
- We will keep your information secure, as set out in our Privacy Policy.
If you have a concern, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
